RAVIPA For Lakshmi Event

Welcoming the Sacred Blessings of Goddess Lakshmi for Wealth, Love & Abundance

The most auspicious time of the year comes just once a year—when the doors to the blessings of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, love, and prosperity, are believed to open at their fullest, allowing devotees to receive her divine blessings.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, RAVIPA held our third Lakshmi blessing ceremony: Varalakshmi Vratam, a sacred celebration to welcome auspiciousness and share positive energy. It was a meaningful moment when the light of faith came together with the energy of wealth, love, and abundance.

RAVIPA intentionally held this special ceremony on Varalakshmi Vratam, considered one of the most auspicious occasions of the year to pray to Lakshmi. It is believed that on this special day, Lakshmi descends to bless her devotees with her divine presence.

This year’s RAVIPA Lakshmi ceremony took place at Gaysorn Building in Ratchaprasong, one of Bangkok’s renowned destinations for those who come to worship Lakshmi and seek blessings in various aspects of life—from love and career to success and financial prosperity. During the ceremony, RAVIPA’s Lakshmi jewelry collections were also brought forward to receive sacred blessings, allowing each piece to be blessed with divine energy before being passed on to everyone.

The Significance of the Lakshmi Blessing Ceremony on Varalakshmi Vratam

Varalakshmi Vratam comes from three words: “Vara,” meaning a divine or auspicious blessing; “Lakshmi,” referring to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, fortune, and love; and “Vratam,” meaning a sacred observance practiced with devotion and determination. Together, the name conveys the meaning of “a day of blessings from Goddess Lakshmi.”

Joining the Lakshmi blessing ceremony on Varalakshmi Vratam is more than simply participating in an usual ritual. It is also an important moment to center your mind, reflect on the blessings you wish to receive, and open yourself to the auspicious energy that is about to enter your life.

A Time to Open the Doors to Wealth, Love, and Abundance

According to Hindu beliefs, the month of Shravana is considered one of the periods when divine energy is at its strongest. It typically falls between July and August on the Gregorian calendar.

This month is also regarded as one of the most auspicious times of the year to worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity and the bestower of blessings in love. It is believed to be a time when Lakshmi shows her greatest compassion and comes closer to the human world to bless her devotees.

It is believed that wishes made on this sacred day will begin to manifest throughout the year—from wealth flowing with ease, to love arriving at the right time and in the right form, and a sense of abundance and fulfillment gradually falling into place. To worship Lakshmi on this day is therefore like laying the foundation for the year ahead.

Why People Pray to Goddess Lakshmi on Varalakshmi Vratam

Praying to Lakshmi on Varalakshmi Vratam is considered one of the most auspicious occasions to worship her. Devotees believe that worshipping Lakshmi on this sacred day is to honor all eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi at once. The blessings are therefore believed to extend across different areas of life—from prayers for love, a life partner, and harmonious family relationships to greater stability in wealth and career.

The 8 Auspicious Blessings of Lakshmi on Varalakshmi Vratam

These eight blessings come from the Ashta Lakshmi, the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi, who are believed to bestow their blessings upon devotees together on Varalakshmi Vratam.

  1. Aadi Lakshmi — Blessings of peace, stability, and a smooth beginning to new chapters in life.

  2. Dhana Lakshmi — Blessings of wealth, prosperity, and financial fortune.

  3. Dhanya Lakshmi — Blessings of abundance, growth, and a good quality of life.

  4. Gaja Lakshmi — Blessings of power, prosperity, prestige, and grace.

  5. Santana Lakshmi — Blessings of love, warm relationships, and happiness within the family.

  6. Veera Lakshmi — Blessings of courage, strength, and the power to overcome obstacles.

  7. Vidya Lakshmi — Blessings of knowledge, wisdom, and success in education.

  8. Vijaya Lakshmi — Blessings of victory, protection from harm, and the achievement of one’s goals.

With the eight forms of Lakshmi bless so many aspects of life—from wealth, prosperity, love, and success to wisdom and victory—Varalakshmi Vratam is considered an important occasion for devotees to pray to Lakshmi, set their intentions, and seek her blessings for abundance in every aspect of life.

Lakshmi: The Goddess of Wealth, Prosperity, and Love

Lakshmi is the revered goddess who bestows wealth, prosperity, and abundance—not only in the form of material riches, but also through the power to attract opportunities, goodwill, love, and success into one’s life.

According to ancient belief, Lakshmi was born during the Churning of the Ocean of Milk (Samudra Manthan). When the devas and asuras joined forces to churn the cosmic ocean in search of immortality, many extraordinary treasures emerged. Among them, Lakshmi gracefully rose from the waves, seated upon a lotus in radiant beauty, surrounded by golden light.

Her divine appearance was seen as the arrival of abundance, prosperity, and divine blessings. She is therefore revered as the goddess who brings growth and abundance wherever she resides.

Lakshmi and the Blessings of Wealth: Fortune, and Abundance

Lakshmi emerged from the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, a sacred ritual in which the devas and asuras churned the cosmic ocean in search of immortality. She appeared seated upon a lotus, a symbol of beauty and abundance. For this reason, Lakshmi is revered as the goddess of fortune, success, wealth, and prosperity upon her devotees.

The eight forms of Lakshmi also carry their own meaningful symbolism. For example, Gaja Lakshmi is seen alongside two majestic white elephants raising their trunks to bathe her, symbolizing honor, dignity, and power. The golden coins flowing continuously from her hands represent wealth and prosperity without its ending. Similarly, Dhana Lakshmi, the form of Lakshmi associated with wealth and abundance, is seen holding various objects, including gold, a conch shell, and a kalasha—symbols of prosperity, good fortune, and success bestowed upon her devotees.

According to traditional beliefs, Lakshmi chooses to reside in homes that are clean and bright, as well as in hearts that are pure, honest, and free from excessive greed. It is therefore believed that the wealth bestowed by her is wealth that “endures” and grows alongside the goodness of its owner. Those seeking greater prosperity often choose to worship Lakshmi for wealth on Fridays and on Varalakshmi Vratam.

Lakshmi and the Blessings of Love: Nurturing Meaningful Relationships and Finding Sincere Love

One of the reasons Lakshmi is revered by those seeking blessings in love and relationships is the beautiful love story she shares with Vishnu, also known as Narayana. Their union is seen as a symbol of choosing a life partner with both a devoted heart and wisdom.

According to belief, whenever Vishnu descended to Earth in one of his avatars, Lakshmi would always accompany him as his divine consort. She appeared as Sita alongside Rama and Rukmini alongside Krishna, representing a love that remains by one another’s side across lifetimes.

Those who pray to Lakshmi for love, therefore, do not simply ask for someone to enter their lives. Rather, they seek sincere love and a relationship built on genuine support and mutual care. It is believed that Lakshmi will bless devotees with a suitable soulmate at the right moment—not necessarily the earliest moment, but the moment that is truly right for them.
